Check
the roads: Before and after!
Until 2003, it was never more than a "roof on sticks,"
but with many hours of volunteer assistance, the Wellhouse building at
Cramer is taking form as a 20'x35' chapel and meeting room. To date,
volunteers have already addressed all of these needs:
- Reframing and stiffening
- Exterior sheeting
- Felt and siding
- Window installation
- Exterior door installation
- Exterior trim installation
- Exterior paint
- Electrical supply, wiring, switches, and fixtures
- Insulation
- Interior doors
- Sheetrock
- Interior paint
Here is what we have left to do:
- Some trim work and trim painting
- Floors
If you or your group would like to be involved in
continuing work on the Wellhouse, please contact Nanette at
.
Some things that would be nice to have for maintaining Cramer Retreat Center:
- Intercom System
- Pressure Washer
- New garden tractor (w/ mowing deck and PTO)
- Standard 22" push-mower
- Line trimmer
- Blower
- Chain saw
- Pressure washer
- Propane torch (for burning vegetation from roadways)
- Sprayer
- PTO-driven chipper/grinder
- Backup electrical generator
- Lighting system for entry
If you can provide any of these, please contact us!
Praise the Lord! With generous donations of materials
and services, the roads of the Cramer Retreat Center have been improved
throughout the property, plus additional parking space at the
Wellhouse, House 2, and House 3.
This is a continuing process! Cramer has a riding mower
and a push lawn mower. Volunteers supply other equipment (such as weed
eaters, blowers, and trimmers) to work on the property. Donations of
working equipment are appreciated.
Cramer is blessed with almost 15 acres of wooded land
that requires attention. In addition, landscaping, bed preparation, and
work on bedding plants will be appreciated as well.
If you or your group would like to be involved in
grounds work at Cramer Retreat Center, please contact Nanette at
.
The ponds at Cramer Retreat Center need attention so
that they can provide an ideal place for worship and meditation. One
part of this will include preparation of an outdoor chapel space by the
pond. If you are interested in helping with the planning or
construction of this, please contact Nanette at
.
Praise the Lord! A Boy Scout Eagle project at
Cramer Retreat Center has provided us with a boardwalk over 180' long
providing a very pleasant all-weather path between the guest houses!
The woods at Cramer Retreat Center can provide a
peaceful environment to enjoy God's creation and grow closer to our
Lord. Prayer trails can help with this. If you are interested in
helping with the planning or construction of prayer trails, please
contact Nanette at
.
