Cross Labyrinth

With
the assistance of many helping hands from the youth choir at First United
Methodist Church in Rosenberg, Texas, the Cramer Retreat Center now has a
prayer labyrinth for use by its visitors.
The Cramer Retreat Center Prayer Labyrinth is situated at the edge of the woods behind Oxalis Cottage. Constructed in July 2005, the labyrinth is a unique seven-circuit rectangular design formed around the shape of a cross.
The cross provides a disctinctly Christian pattern. The Labyrinth has outside dimensions of 40 by 32 feet. The path from the entrance to the foot of the cross-shaped section is over 430 feet. A physical cross will be laid in the ground where pilgrims will be able to walk its perimeter. Benches for pilgrims to sit and pray have been placed at each end of the horizontal beam of the cross. Another bench will be placed at the head and a kneeling rail will be placed at the foot. The walk can be done in fifteen minutes, or as long as the walker wishes to take. Devotional aides will be added at the entrance and at different points along the path to assist the labyrinth walker in her or his spiritual journey.
The Prayer Labyrinth is open all guests of the Cramer Retreat Center.
